What is VGC?

VGC is the official double battle format. You control two active Pokémon at once, which makes positioning, support moves, speed control, and synergy much more important than in singles.

Bring 4 from 6

At team preview both sides reveal six Pokémon, but only four are brought into battle. Good teams are flexible enough that several combinations of four still make sense into different matchups.

Turn Structure

Actions resolve based on priority and speed. That means Tailwind, Trick Room, Icy Wind, Electroweb, Fake Out, and Protect often matter as much as raw damage.

Role Compression

The best slots cover several jobs at once: speed control plus offense, redirection plus support, Intimidate plus pivoting, or setup plus endgame cleaning.
